The Mission Statement of the Planning and Development Office is to enhance the standard of living for the members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes by providing meaningful, well-structured and empathetic program services and benefits. This will be accomplished, in part, by researching and recognizing the needs of service programs to strengthen and mobilize their resources in accordance with the identified needs of their clients. This Mission also encompasses the enhancement of the standard of living for tribal members by developing meaningful job opportunities whether those opportunities exist within the tribal structure or in other job markets. Education, training, and creating employment opportunities drive this Mission. All efforts will be mindful of protecting and promoting the natural environment, the desired level of cultural influence, and the development of communities.
Envisioning the Future of the Tsististas & Hinono’ei
The Planning and Development Office’s primary focus is on the completion and implementation of the Tribes’ Comprehensive Plan which is a collaborative effort between the Tribal Members and Tribal Leadership. This objective was initiated in January 2010 and the completion of the plan is scheduled for June 2011. After the completion and adoption of the Tribes’ Comprehensive Plan, the activities proposed for each parcel of tribal land must refer to the Plan for guidance in site selection and project need as expressed by each community. Each program will receive a bound copy of the Plan and Records Management will be given extra copies for tribal members.
