POSITION:       Indian Child Welfare Program Coordinator

 

LOCATION:     Department of Social Services-ICW Program, Concho , OK

 

ISSUE DATE:   September 02, 2008                  CLOSING DATE: October 3, 2008    

 

DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director and the Executive Director, the incumbent performs the administration, personnel management and direct practice duties for the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes’ ICW program.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Makes appropriate referrals to assist clients when necessary;
  • Issues decision of eligibility/ineligibility on applicant request;
  • Maintains a record keeping system of clients;
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times;
  • Develops and maintains a referral network system for the program;
  • Tracks relevant statistics of clientele;
  • Submits a monthly report of statistics regarding the administration of the program demographics;
  • Responsible for supervision of subordinate staff to coordinate casework direction;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree ( In Social Work or related field preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Must have the ability to work with high number of clients and work as efficiently as possible;
  • Requires two years of professional related experience;
  • Require two years of professional related experience;
  • Ability to work flexible hours and willing to work other than normal working hours;
  • Must have knowledge of crisis theory and interventions;
  • Must understand the programs goals, objectives, and regulations;
  • Possess communication skills, written and oral, to relate to Indian and Non-Indian communities, other agencies and the general public;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality on all client matters and other matters protected by the Privacy Act as well as other confidentiality regulations;
  • OSBI and criminal background check required and be adjudicated appropriately;
  • Must possess a current Oklahoma Driver’s License to operate a government owned vehicle;
  • Prefer knowledge of Cheyenne-Arapaho/Native American cultures and values;
  • Ability to work with difficult clientele;
  • Must pass pre-hire drug screen;
  • Cheyenne and Arapaho Preference.

 

SALARY: Negotiable
