POSITION:     Groundskeeper/Laborer

LOCATION:     Economic Development, Concho, OK

Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Groundskeeper/Laborer will be to provide manual labor and assistance in completing project tasks involving general repair duties, ground maintenance and landscaping activities. Landscaping activities will include installation and maintenance of shrubs, trees, flower beds, fertilizing and applying insecticides, herbicides and fungicides for pest control. The Groundskeeper/Laborer will also be responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor, general repair duties in ground maintenance, and tasks involving general mechanics, building trades and light plumbing duties. Other duties included will be mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, planting flowers, and picking up trash, hauling trash, and other duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for cutting grass, weeds, trees and brush; cleans culverts, drains and ditches; moves, loads, unloads, and hauls materials and trash.
2. Responsible for digging post holes and ditches; mows lawns, trims shrubs, rakes grass and trash, sweeps walkways; pickup chips, branches, and trash.
3. Responsible for fertilizing and applying insecticides, herbicides and fungicides for pest control on lawns, flowers, and gardens.
4. Responsible for seeds, sods or plants greens and grounds; maintains traps, hazards and roughs.
5. Responsible for light plumbing duties, including installation of fixtures, automatic flush valves, and snaking clogged drains.
6. Performs general clean-up and occasional custodial duties.
7. Performs general maintenance, loading and unloading of construction materials.
8. Operates light weight equipment – chipper, hedge trimmers, chain saws, lawn mowers, lawn edger, and plumbing auger.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to accept immediate employment.
2. Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
3. Ability and knowledge to operate light weight equipment.
4. Must be physically fit to withstand various types of manual labor.
5. Must be physically fit to withstand various types of manual labor.
6. Must have knowledge of landscaping – planting flowers and shrubs.
7. Must have knowledge in the application of fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides and fungicides for pest control
.
8. Must have knowledge of the installation of plumbing fixtures, automatic flush valves and traps.
9. Must have stable work history, be dependable and conscientious.
10. Must have knowledge in performing general repair duties.
11. Must have painting experience.
12. Any and all other duties assigned.
13. Must submit to a background check.
14. Must have High School Diploma or GED and current Drivers License.
